Peak Performers has partnered with a US energy company to assist in their search for an Azure DevOps Engineer. In this contract position, you will help increase speed of delivery, improve quality/security of code and optimize processes for the development team IS system.

The candidate is responsible for identifying the bottlenecks of various development and delivery processes, working with team members to improve them, and improving the overall experience of developers. They are also responsible for infrastructure-as-code deployment tooling and supporting services on multiple cloud providers along with metrics, logging and alerting to ensure smooth operation.

Major Duties
• Works closely with Tech Leads and developers of various teams to assess existing problems and to come up with process improvement solutions
• Designs and builds infrastructure that provide high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence
• Actively participates in deploying application artifacts to appropriate target environments using the supported technologies and infrastructure
• Surveys developers and technical members of the organization to understand their main pain points in the coding and development process
• Collaborates with the rest of DevOps team to deliver consistent and holistic solution to the organization
• Ensure traceability, observability, and retrievability of sources and deliverables

What are we looking for?

Required skills:
• Excellent coding and scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Powershell, Maven, Ant)
• Working knowledge of cloud-agnostic configuration management frameworks (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and cluster management tools like Kubernetes
• Experience with containers such as Docker, OpenShift
• Experience with continuous integration and related tools such as ADO, Jenkins, Hudson, Sonar, etc.
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions
• Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
• Utilizes team collaboration to create innovative solutions efficiently
• Experience as a DevOps or SRE Engineer on a cross-functional agile team preferred

General:
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions
• Sound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simply
• Open to learning new ideas outside scope or knowledge
