Role: R&D Software Engineer III / Medical Device

Location: San Diego, CA - 92121

Duration: 12 Months on (W2)

Shift Timings: 8 AM to 5 PM

Responsibilities:

   • Provide technical leadership to a global software development team to build high-quality cloud solutions.

   • Facilitate decision-making on project scope, task duration, and product requirements.

   • Evaluate and recommend improvements to current development processes.

   • Ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.

   • Identify key challenges, apply problem-solving skills, and resolve complex technical issues.

   • Troubleshoot and make critical decisions under uncertainty, delivering effective outcomes.

   • Establish best practices for software and system development, ensuring efficiency, high quality, and compliance with the Quality Management System.

   • Utilize technical expertise to propose multiple solutions for engineering challenges.

   • Develop comprehensive technical project plans and schedules covering all engineering activities.

   • Exhibit professionalism in interactions with internal and external stakeholders, aligning with company policies.

   • Comply with established business policies and perform other duties as assigned based on evolving business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

   • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred).

   • Experience: 10+ years in software and systems development, particularly with connected device interoperability.

   • Agile Expertise: Experience in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, TDD).

   • Cloud Development: Hands-on experience developing cloud solutions.

Technical Qualifications:

   • Identity & Authentication: Hands-on experience with Azure AD/Entra ID, Okta, or similar identity platforms.

   • Authentication Protocols: Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and related standards.

   • Cloud Services: Experience with Azure services including Kubernetes Service, App Service, Azure Functions, App Gateway, Blob Storage, Log Analytics, Key Vault, Data Factory, API Gateway, and Event Hub.

   • Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform.

   • CI/CD Tools: Experience with Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

   • Security & Code Quality: Familiarity with Static Code Analysis tools such as Veracode or Fortify on Demand.

   • Frontend Development: Experience with frameworks like React or Angular.

   • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python or C#.

   • API Development: Experience with REST APIs using FastAPI or ASP.NET Core Web API.

   • Networking & Cybersecurity: Understanding of network protocols, system integration, and security best practices.

   • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of medical device regulations including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, 21 CFR Part 820.30 (Design Controls), and FDA software guidelines.

   • Industry Experience: Background in medical device IVD product development.

   • Testing & Quality Assurance: Experience with testing methodologies for cloud solutions.

   • Protocols & Standards: Strong understanding of TLS/HTTPS, REST, and SOAP protocols.
