Job Description:

We are is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer, AWS to join our team in Houston, TX. This role requires expertise in cloud technologies, software engineering, and integrations while working closely with architects, business stakeholders, and offshore teams. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, eager to learn and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications using AWS services.
• Collaborate with architects, offshore teams, and business units to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
• Write, test, and review high-quality Python code following enterprise coding standards.
• Design and implement integrations using REST APIs, synchronous/asynchronous messaging, and batch processing.
• Ensure security best practices, including WAF, encryption, access control, SSO, and MFA.
• Monitor and optimize system performance using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other observability tools.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues using platform logs, debugging tools, and root cause analysis.
• Follow agile methodologies and DevOps practices for efficient development and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise software development standards.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:
• Cloud Technologies: AWS services including Lambda, IAM, S3, EFS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, CLI, Kinesis, Glue, ElastiCache (Redis), CloudWatch, CloudFormation, EC2.
• Databases: Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and DynamoDB.
• Containers: Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
• Networking: Strong understanding of VPC, subnets, security groups, IP addressing (CIDR).
• Security: Proficiency in WAF, encryption, access control, identity management, SSO, and MFA.
• Performance & Reliability: Hands-on experience with auto-scaling (ASG), application load balancing (ALB), and network load balancing (NLB).
• Storage & Data Warehousing: Familiarity with EFS, S3, Snowflake, and SQL-based data solutions.
• Programming: Strong Python skills, with experience writing and reviewing enterprise-level code.
• Observability & Monitoring: Experience with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EventBridge, and industry-standard tools like Datadog.

Preferred (Plus) Skills:
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark and Glue.
• Shell scripting (Unix) and batch script knowledge.
• Proficiency in Angular and Node.js.
• Understanding of microservices, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and event-driven design patterns.

Bonus (Super Plus) Skills:
• Understanding of Machine Learning concepts, including performance metrics, hyperparameters, training, and inference.
• Experience with MLOps best practices.

Additional Qualifications:
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles, modular coding, and domain-driven design.
• Experience with complex cloud-based projects, web application development, and open-source technologies.
• Familiarity with enterprise DevOps practices and agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues using available resources and logs.
• Ability to estimate effort, translate business needs into technology solutions, and drive projects forward.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment and engage with stakeholders.

Interview Process:
• 2 to 3 rounds of interviews (panel-style with technical and leadership team members).
