You’ll be joining a project to build a cutting-edge reinsurance ecosystem for a leading global reinsurer in Bermuda. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-driven environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and embraces the latest technologies.
What You’ll Do
As an Analytical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Building & maintaining DBT SQL models, ensuring best practices in SQL modelling.
• Debugging & resolving issues in existing DBT models.
• Creating & updating Looker explores, ensuring optimised data visualisation.
• Working directly with clients to articulate modelling decisions and address challenges.
• Developing dashboards for senior stakeholders using Looker.
• Utilizing LiquidIf for advanced Looker functionalities.
• Collaborating on data orchestration strategies to optimise workflows.
• Gathering & refining requirements for data projects.
What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)
• 1+ years of experience in DBT (within the last 12 months).
• 5+ years of SQL experience.
• 1+ years of LookerML experience (within the last 24 months).
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage relationships effectively.
• Experience with Cloud SQL.
Nice-to-Haves (Bonus Skills)
• Python (a big plus!).
• Reinsurance/Finance sector experience.
• Experience with Databricks and/or BigQuery.
• Job orchestration expertise, including best practices for implementation.
