ROle: Slack Engineer

Duration: 6 months - 1 year

Location: Remote (PST preferred)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Slack Engineer to design, implement, and maintain innovative Slack integrations and workflows that enhance productivity and communication within our organization. You will collaborate with teams to optimize Slack for automation, custom app development, and seamless integration with our existing systems.
• Key Responsibilities:Slack Administration:
• Manage and maintain Slack workspaces, including user provisioning, security settings, and channel architecture.
• Monitor and ensure platform health, performance, and compliance with company policies.

Integration and Automation:

Develop and deploy custom Slack bots, workflows, and applications using Slack API, Bolt, and other relevant tools.

Integrate Slack with third-party applications and internal systems (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, GitHub, Google Workspace).

Automate routine processes and communications to streamline workflows.

Technical Support:

Provide Tier 2/3 support for Slack-related issues.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to integrations, bots, or platform functionality.

Collaboration and Training:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify needs and implement Slack-based solutions.

Train employees on best practices and new Slack features or integrations.

Security and Compliance:

Enforce platform security, including managing OAuth tokens, permissions, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Audit and analyze usage data to identify areas for improvement or risks.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Proficiency in Slack API and development frameworks (e.g., Bolt for JavaScript/Python).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and OAuth authentication.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Workato, or Make).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide references from comparable projects/

Preferred:
• Experience integrating Slack with enterprise software solutions (e.g., Atlassian, Salesforce).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Understanding of enterprise security practices and data compliance standards.
• Prior experience in DevOps, IT administration, or a similar role.
