Senior Database & Reporting Analyst – Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Java Integration (W2 Candidates Only)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Database & Reporting Analyst to join our IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System) team. This role involves performing advanced analysis to support, improve, and enhance databases and reporting capabilities for large-scale projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and integrating databases with Java applications.

The position requires strong skills in data aggregation, analysis, and troubleshooting while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across Texas’s 1200 school districts. Assignments follow a defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process with an Agile-like approach.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, code, and support Oracle SQL and PL/SQL solutions.
• Integrate databases with Java applications.
• Develop Jasper reports and maintain thorough documentation.
• Conduct unit testing and bug resolution for core projects.
• Collaborate within an Agile development framework.
• Aggregate and analyze complex datasets to produce accurate and actionable reports.

Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL design, coding, and support.
• 8+ years of experience integrating databases with Java applications.
• 8+ years of experience in unit testing.
• Strong proficiency with Agile methodologies.
