ORB Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to work with our client who is established and leading global energy and power generation company, with working being on a fully remote basis.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem-solver and passionate about renewable energy, data quality and sustainability, They possess advanced data engineering skills, paired with analytical rigor and industry-specific knowledge in energy systems. They hold certifications such as LEED or similar, understand the compliance landscape and have a collaborative mindset. Previous experience in an energy holding company or consulting environment is preferred.

Role: Candidates will be completing the following tasks.

Develop and maintain robust, scalable data architectures that can handle diverse renewable energy data sources.

Collaborate with the companies energy teams to transform complex datasets into actionable insights, influencing sustainability initiatives.

Drive innovation by creating predictive models for energy demand, storage needs, and optimizing renewable energy outputs.

Conduct in-depth quality assessments and implement data governance practices to ensure integrity and regulatory compliance.

Requirements: To be considered for this role candidates will need to show the following.

8+ Years of data engineering experience within the the renewable energy sector

Understanding of SQL, Python and data pipeline tools like Apache Spark and Kafka.

Proficiency with cloud formats (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and real-time data streaming solutions.

Certified in data engineering or energy related fields e.g. Microsoft Certified.

Strong Analytical skills and experience in predictive modelling techniques tailored for renewable energy systems.

Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory standards in the energy sector is highly desirable.

Pay: £550 to £750 per day - OUTSIDE IR35
