Senior Data Engineer
Responsibilities
Kforce's client in Baltimore, MD is looking to bring on a Senior Data Engineer, specifically someone who specializes in Data Bricks and real time streaming. These individuals will be joining this project on a long-term contract position. Summary: The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to pull data in real-time (RT, <1 min), near real-time (NRT, 30-60 mins), and batch (once a day) from a variety of sources like Oracle, SQL Server, files, social media platforms (X, Facebook, LinkedIn), IoT devices, APIs, Salesforce, HCM, and Microsoft CRM. Requirements
• Proficiency in Databricks tools and technologies, including Delta Lake and Databricks SQL
• Extensive ETL development experience, particularly with large-scale data processing and transformation pipelines
• Strong knowledge of PySpark for building and optimizing distributed data processing workflows
• Experience working with streaming data pipelines using frameworks such as Spark Structured Streaming or similar tools
• Familiarity with Azure platform and related data services
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance in distributed environments
• Databricks Spark Streaming for real-time data processing
• PySpark for scalable data transformation and analysis
• Delta Live Tables for automated and reliable pipeline development
• Spark SQL for data querying and analytics
• Autoloader for incremental data ingestion
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
