Trissential is seeking a Senior Consultant, Data Systems Analyst to join our client team in a remote capacity, with the option to work hybrid in Minneapolis, MN if preferred. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in transforming data into meaningful insights, ensuring seamless data quality, and mentoring others within the data ecosystem. With your strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, you’ll bridge the gap between complex technical systems and business needs, enabling impactful decision-making. Your expertise will help debug data flows, resolve challenges, and design high-quality solutions that empower the organization. Responsibilities

Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges and design data-driven solutions
Mentor team members, share expertise, and foster a collaborative culture
Develop project plans and user stories for reporting enhancements and dashboard builds
Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to validate data quality and inform future models
Debug and trace data issues across platforms and source systems, implementing root-cause solutions
Design and create dataflows, data models, and dashboards for robust analysis and reporting
Conduct detailed analyses of complex datasets, reports, and source data to uncover insights
Lead projects aimed at improving metadata, master data, and data quality

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Management, or equivalent work experience
3+ years of hands-on SQL experience
1+ years creating highly formatted reports using tools such as SSRS or Business Objects
Prior exposure to the insurance domain (e.g., Underwriting, Claims, Finance) is a plus

Essential skills

Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar visualization tools
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail
Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams with minimal supervision
Familiarity with Jira and Databricks is a plus
Expertise in diagnosing data quality issues and developing sustainable solutions
Enthusiasm for learning new tools and adapting in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Desired skills

Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and master data concepts
Experience in designing, debugging, and optimizing dataflows
