We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst / Developer with strong experience using Business Intelligence applications, specifically Power BI. This role focuses on supporting the Global Investment Operations (GIO) team at a Fortune 500 investment firm by understanding business and data requirements, assisting in dashboard and visualization development, and driving user adoption of the Power BI platform. The ideal candidate will be adept at both business analysis (80%) and dashboard development (20%), with a focus on metrics reporting, user training, and ongoing functional support. Initially, the role will be more business analyst-focused but will fluctuate based on the project work.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Requirements & GIO Lantern Initiative:
    • Drive the GIO Lantern Metrics Reporting Program by supporting functional teams in defining and documenting metrics (KPIs and KRIs).
    • Collaborate with GIO leadership to aggregate and escalate metrics to track execution progress.
    • Participate in project meetings, requirements sessions, and roadmap planning with project teams and stakeholders.
    • Work with GIO Technology to ensure successful implementation of metrics reporting requirements.
    • Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions by serving as a liaison between functional and technology teams.

  2. Training and Outreach:
    • Provide group and individual Power BI training sessions to enhance user proficiency, catering to varying experience levels.
    • Publish, curate, and socialize Power BI training materials, ensuring consistent and accessible learning resources.
    • Manage a centralized Power BI information hub, maintaining site content and promoting upcoming events and resources.
    • Encourage user adoption and help functional teams integrate Power BI capabilities into their workflows.

  3. Dashboard Development & Platform Support:
    • Develop and publish Power BI dashboards independently, based on user-defined requirements.
    • Troubleshoot issues and address queries from GIO stakeholders, ensuring efficient problem resolution.
    • Facilitate the creation of Power BI workspaces, licensing, and security roles for functional teams.
    • Provide ongoing support for Power BI platform usage and functionality across GIO.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Business Intelligence Business Analyst experience
• 2+ years of recent Power BI Business Analyst
• 2+ years of experience developing and publishing Power BI dashboards independently
• Experience training users and creating training material on the PowerBI platform
• Ability to read and interpret existing SQL scripts is a plus
• Financial Industry experience is a plus
