TITLE: Lead - DevOps Automations Engineer
LOCATION: Remote Position
POSITION TYPE: Contract to Perm
Lead - DevOps Automations Engineer Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership, direction, and assignments of tasks associated with team goals.
• Extensive experience with creating robust release management processes using PowerShell and other automation scripting technologies.
• Experience with transformation to and construction of Continuous Deployment, CI environments, build and release cycles from a manual delivery model.
• Lead and give direction with new automation framework to utilize and define/refine existing build and deploy processes.
• Be a collaborative, highly experienced team player with strong communication and planning skills.
• Assist development teams across the organization to implement their CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong automation, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow through to completion.
• Extensive experience with Configuration Management/Deployment tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Assume ownership of automation processes, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate/Cooperate with Enterprise and Architects on DevOps toolchain decisions.
• Experience explaining and persuading DevOps culture, automation, lean, measurement, and sharing changes throughout internal teams and with business partners.
• Experience providing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery solutions using tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with container tools such as AKS and OpenShift.
• Experience in Agile Methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, Lean/Scaled, etc.) and processes.
• Follow engineering best practices, participate in new tool evaluations, peer reviews, etc., as necessary.
• Experience with systems administrations and networking technologies.
• Work closely with Development, QA, Product Management, and Operations teams to ensure product releases on time with quality.
• SQL experience with Oracle, MongoDB, etc.
• Experience in Database Administration.
• Architect solutions to support and host customer-facing products with a focus on stability, scalability, security, testability, and maintainability.
• Work closely with other team leaders & business partners to ensure their needs are met via SLAs and SLOs in the context of process and project goals and objectives.
• Recommend, assist with, design, and develop internal process automations using DevOps tools and technologies.
• Maintain poise under pressure, with attention to detail and a high commitment to customer satisfaction.
Lead - DevOps Automations Engineer Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or closely related field) with at least 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and as an individual contributor on solo efforts with minimal supervision.
• 5+ years of DevOps experience in the area of application (vendor & internal apps) delivery and transformation to deployment automation.
• Proven ability to follow priorities and timelines.
• Passion for bringing high-quality automation, including continuous deployments and automated service failover, into a team.
• Strong knowledge of applying agile methodologies in an enterprise, including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile.
• Knowledge of good coding practices and improving code quality.
• Agile qualifications (SCM/PO/Coach).
• Good understanding of Azure (ARM and Bicep Templates, Resource Groups, Secure Networking, Vaults).
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $70-80/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
