IT Engineer (Azure Migration Specialist)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Engineer with hands-on experience in Azure data migration to assist with a time-sensitive project. This contract role involves migrating data from one Azure location to another and ensuring the process is seamless and efficient. The project is estimated to take approximately 100 to 150 hours and is expected to begin within two weeks, with a completion target of late February.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and execute the migration of data from one Azure location to another while minimizing downtime.
• Analyze existing infrastructure and identify potential challenges in the migration process.
• Configure Azure resources and services to ensure compatibility and optimal performance post-migration.
• Perform data backups and validation to prevent data loss during the migration.
• Monitor migration progress and troubleshoot issues in real time.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and data governance policies during the migration process.
• Document migration processes, configurations, and key takeaways for future reference.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience with Azure cloud platform, including resource configuration, management, and migration.
• Strong understanding of Azure services such as Azure Storage, Virtual Networks, and Azure Backup.
• Experience with tools and scripts for Azure migration (e.g., Azure Migrate, PowerShell, or CLI).
• Familiarity with data governance, security best practices, and compliance in cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect (preferred).
