Role Description
Enterprise Architect
Position Title: Enterprise Architect – IT and Business Integration for Acquisitions
Objective: Drive the design and integration of a scalable, secure, and functional platform architecture to support user growth, system consolidation, and efficient onboarding of newly acquired companies into the core technology ecosystem. This role will work on building a sustainable IT environment that aligns with the organisations business growth objectives through secure and scalable solutions, robust data governance, and efficient data flows across business-critical systems.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Platform Development:
• Design a scalable, secure architecture that supports a significant increase in user base and meets stringent data governance requirements.
• Develop a technology roadmap focusing on critical systems, including finance, CRM, HR, and time-tracking platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Establish a unified system architecture that can integrate additional acquisitions smoothly, ensuring that the consolidated platform can support the operational needs of all entities involved.
System Integration and Data Flow Optimization:
• Assess, document, and integrate all systems from acquired companies (e.g. Finance, CRM, HR systems) into main infrastructure, ensuring data accuracy and governance.
• Create an enterprise-wide application and data flow framework, documenting “as-is” architecture, and proposing a “to-be” state to streamline business processes.
• Lead the alignment of all system changes through Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes, particularly for critical systems like HR and payroll.
Data Management and Analytics Enablement:
• Establish a centralized data governance strategy, defining a “master source of truth” for key business data (e.g., client, finance, and HR information) to support reliable reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with the data analytics team to identify opportunities for leveraging large amounts of existing data for machine learning and advanced analytics, defining an initial approach for AI/ML adoption within business processes.
• Oversee API-driven data entry flows to improve consistency and efficiency across integrated systems, ensuring that key data (e.g., passport numbers, client information) is accurately mapped and accessible.
System Assessment, Onboarding, and Decommissioning:
• Conduct assessments of back-office and client-facing systems, defining necessary steps to migrate, optimize, or decommission legacy systems.
• Work with stakeholders to determine system requirements and ensure that all systems go through appropriate approval processes for security and compliance.
• Coordinate with decommissioning teams to phase out redundant systems following the integration of acquisitions, ensuring continuity and data integrity.
Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Engage with IT leaders, data analytics, infosec, CRM, and other cross-functional teams to understand system requirements, pain points, and integration needs.
• Serve as a liaison between IT and business leadership, effectively communicating technical goals, timelines, and value to non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide ad-hoc architecture consulting as needed for the implementation of planned changes, keeping projects aligned with the overall IT roadmap.
Qualifications:
Experience and Technical Skills:
• Proven experience as a Senior Enterprise Architect, particularly in enterprise environments with M&A integrations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, finance, HR) - selection and integration
• Familiarity with SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, and microservices.
Analytical and Strategic Thinking:
• Demonstrated ability to assess complex system environments and propose feasible, scalable solutions.
• Experience in developing IT roadmaps and aligning technical goals with business priorities.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
• Skilled at engaging with both technical and business teams to drive projects forward, with a focus on achieving effective and sustainable integration solutions.
• Ability to document, communicate, and present architecture plans and proposals in a clear and concise manner to all stakeholders.
Working Model: Flexible/Remote, with potential on-site engagements as necessary.
The Enterprise Architect will play a key role in bridging technical solutions with business growth objectives, ensuring a robust, scalable platform that supports both current operations and future integrations.
