Currently we are seeking a “DevOps Engineer” for one of our clients that is a leading multination corporation.
Position: DevOps Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12 Months contract with high possibility of extension.
Description
• Support for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 and other Windows applications:
• Provide technical support for Dynamics AX 2012 R3, SSRS, SSIS, Remote Desktop, Cloud platforms, and other applications running on Windows Server 2016.
• Administer application environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner related to servers, cloud services, applications, configurations, and integrations.
• Implement solutions to prevent recurrence of known issues and improve overall system stability.
• Create and maintain monitors and alerts on system and infrastructure performance and stability and manage any issues to resolution.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as applying application updates, patches, and hotfixes to applications when available.
• Review reports from security tools and remediate alerts and incidents.
• Create, monitor and manage incidents and problems using ServiceNow.
• Create and manage ServiceNow change requests and requested items for performing changes and requesting technical items from other teams.
• Open and manage support cases to resolution with Microsoft and other support vendors and third parties.
• Investigate system logs, performance metrics, and other sources of data to identify root causes of problems.
• Manage the retention of system and event logs for operations analysis, forensics, and security incident response purposes.
• Provide technical support to IT teams and end-users, including responding to inquiries, diagnosing problems, and resolving issues.
• Document support processes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on the status of technical issues and resolutions.
• Report on and perform regular audits to ensure backups of Applications and VMs are performed in accordance with approved backup policies.
• Create and/or manage incidents for failed or improper backups.
• Schedule, monitor, and validate regular restore tests of randomly selected critical production files and VMs.
• Regularly review archiving & retention requirements and ensure they are adhered to.
• Evaluate environments and provide input and recommendations concerning capacity management.
• User Access Management:
• Create, modify, and delete application user accounts as needed to grant or revoke access to applications and file sharing services.
• Support periodic access reviews and audits to ensure that access permissions are up-to-date and aligned with business requirements, making adjustments as necessary.
• Build and Release Management:
• Coordinate and execute the build process for applications, ensuring that builds are created accurately and efficiently.
• Manage the release, including deploying releases to different environments.
• Work with development teams to automate build and release processes where applicable using Azure DevOps and other tools.
Azure and AWS Platform:
• Have or quickly gain proficiency in Azure services such as Azure Functions, API Management (APIM), Load balancers, Application gateways, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Dashboards, and other relevant Azure offerings.
• Have or quickly gain proficiency in AWS services such as AWS Lambdas, API Gateways, Containers, Load balancers, Cognito, and other relevant AWS offerings.
• Have or quickly gain an understanding of Cloud networking and security groups.
• Support cloud-based applications and solutions, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with CloudOps and developers to optimize the performance and scalability of Cloud resources.
Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, functionals, product owners, system administrators, and business stakeholders, to support sprint activities and environments.
