Our client, an internet service provider is seeking an experienced Database Reliability Engineer to join their team. This role offers a unique chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact on the resilience and security of their database infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities:

• Review existing database systems and make recommendations for improvements.

• Enhance the resilience of the software code repository by clustering PostgreSQL virtual servers.

• Develop database infrastructure to meet the demands of digitisation and security.

• Implement automation, segmented databases, and abstraction from the hardware level.

• Conduct audits to classify data, ensure robust backups, and enhance observability and security.

• Test and validate changes in a controlled environment before deployment to production systems.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency with Terraform Open Source and Ansible Open Source.

• Experience with VMware 8 for Infrastructure-as-Code deployments.

• Strong knowledge of MariaDB 10.3, MySQL v5.7, and PostgreSQL

• Familiarity with Datadog for monitoring and observability.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve load-balancing issues in clustered environments.

• Proven track record of improving database resilience and security.

• Strong analytical skills to conduct thorough audits and implement effective security controls.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present recommendations.
