Role Description
Job Title: Data Modeller
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1 to 2days)
Rate Payable to Contractors: £500 - £550
Duration of Assignment: Six months
Role Description
This role requires comprehensive experience in data modelling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models. The successful candidate will have a significant impact, working with industry-leading technology and engaging with business users to gather and model their information requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business users to determine their information needs.
Analyze the business process to identify and conceive interacting entities.
Develop entity relationship diagrams showing the links between entities.
Define attributes and properties of each entity, ensuring entities are distinguishable.
Create and validate a logical data model that fulfills business application requirements.
Translate the logical model into a physical model and work with database administrators to implement and maintain it.
Collaborate with BI and Analytics teams to create reusable semantic models, including metadata and lineage information.
Optimize the model for consistent performance.
Maintain accurate metadata to describe the data model, its structure, and semantics.
Recommend and enforce design and maintenance standards, guidelines, and procedures.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Proficiency in industry-standard data modelling methodologies.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Excellent facilitation, consultative, and consensus-building capabilities.
Proven expertise in developing relational databases within a corporate environment.
Demonstrated experience creating models for Business Intelligence solutions.
Advanced analytical, data profiling, and problem-solving abilities.
Thorough knowledge of modelling methodologies and processes.
Expertise in facilitation and conflict resolution techniques.
Familiarity with Business Intelligence products.
