We need a consultant with a combination of Data Engineering and Data Analysis experience that lives near Brookfield, WI to work in the office 3 days per week.

Senior Data Engineer

NATURE AND SCOPE: The Senior Data Engineer is a technical leader responsible for researching, recommending, designing, and implementing complex and/or new technologies to advance the goals of the company and the Data Engineering Team. The Senior Data Engineer is a key contributor to decisions relating to process design and technology use. The Senior Data Engineer will mentor other data engineers while working with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle, Snowflake) and business intelligence tools (e.g., SSIS, SSRS, Power BI). The Senior Data Engineer must be passionate about solving problems using data technologies. The Senior Data Engineer reports to the Manager, Data Engineering.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, or at least 7 years of experience developing data solutions (e.g., ETL, reports, data warehouse). Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Strong SQL skills including knowledge of the underlying execution engine and how to performance tune queries.

Proven experience using data tools/services to deliver data driven solutions, including ETL, data integration, and/or reporting solutions.

Demonstrated experience with designing, modeling, and building databases and data structures.

Experience with Visual Studio and SSDT.

Thorough understanding and proficiency using source control and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience eliciting key information from technical and business users to make appropriate technical decisions.

Experience mentoring/onboarding technical resources.

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python) as a data tool.

Knowledge of database administration tasks (e.g., backup, restore, logging).

Experience working in an iterative delivery process.

Senior Data Analyst

NATURE AND SCOPE: The Senior Data Analyst is a technical leader responsible for understanding the enterprise data landscape and its relevance to how data supports the business. The Senior Data Analyst will have experience with relational or non-relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle, Snowflake), data integration, and data modeling. The Senior Data Analyst must be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and able to work with moderate supervision. The Senior Data Analyst reports to the Director, Data Engineering.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years professional experience, or at least 7 years of experience with data solutions. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Strong experience in analyzing data sources; translating and documenting business data needs as data definitions and use cases; and outlining data requirements for analysts and engineers.

Proven experience with data modeling, database design, and data mining.

Solid understanding of databases (both relational and non-relational), reporting packages, and data programming.

Understanding of statistics and experience using software for analyzing datasets.

Solid analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information to varying audiences.

Knowledge of database administration tasks (e.g., backup, restore, logging).

PRINCPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABLITIES:

Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to define requests, scope, requirements, and technical capabilities.

Design data solutions that meet project goals and minimize risk.

Research, recommend, and execute proof of concept for new technology.

Create documentation per project and organization standards.

Lead and/or facilitate efforts in maintaining technical documentation (e.g., team wiki).

Participate in defining data development processes and tools.

Lead and/or facilitate research efforts and recommend new data technologies that align to goals.

Lead and/or facilitate solution design activities.

Facilitate code reviews with the other team members.
