Job Description:

Data Managers/Analysts:

• Responsible for inbound and outbound data, with specific adherence to Data Quality, Data Integrity, Data Security, Data Lineage in line with UK GDPR and the DPA and have a good understanding of the associated principles.

• Work closely within a central resource teams and teams embedded within a DWP Function (such as Universal Credit or Retirement) to ensure changes to data and metadata are captured and impacted across the data lifecycle and work to improve the data captured in line with business requirements.

• Produce effective communications for users and stakeholders across UK Government around changes to data products.

• Maintain inventories and catalogues that log information about the data we store.

• Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for data relating to a specific domain within a central resource teams and teams embedded within a DWP Function (such as Universal Credit or Retirement)

• Lead, or play a key role in, meetings to discuss risks and issues around data and take action to manage them in a timely manner.

Typical Data Management Skills required include:

• Knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection principles.

• Knowledge of industry leading data quality practices.

• An understanding of the ITIL framework and service management.

• Knowledge of data integrity frameworks, and the application of data standards.

• Experience in large-scale data management.

• A technical awareness and an ability to translate business requirements into data products.

Typical Data Analyst Skills required include:

• Hands on experience in SQL, being able to interrogate data and provide business insights.

• Experience building dashboards through Power BI.

• Experience DAX, Data Modeling and Power Query

• Knowledge of Statistics methods and Data Modeling.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure).is desirable.
