Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Reporting and Visualization Specialist to join our team. This role focuses primarily on maintaining and updating existing reports in Logi Analytics and Tableau, ensuring they remain accurate, functional.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Gather Requirements: Work closely with DLS staff and stakeholders to gather requirements for their report, dataset, visualization, and other data publication needs.
Prepare and Verify Data: Prepare and verify the accuracy of data for report, dataset, visualization, and other data publication needs.
Design: Design reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications so that the information presented is engaging, intuitive, insightful, simple, and actionable.
Document: Document all reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications according to guidelines to facilitate future maintenance.
Develop: Develop insightful, engaging, and actionable reports, datasets, and visualizations aligned with stakeholder needs.
Quality Assurance: Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) work to ensure the accuracy and quality of reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications.
Recognize Problems/Risks: Recognize problems/risks and recommend mitigation strategies to ensure the accuracy and quality of reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications.
Publish: Publish reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications using relevant tools and applications.
Maintain: Maintain reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications to ensure they remain up-to-date and relevant to stakeholder needs.
Collaborate: Work with personnel in other state and federal agencies to obtain data for DLS reports, datasets, visualizations, and other data publications.
Use of Technology: Use software technology, including, but not limited to, Office Products, SQL, Logi Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, Jira, Confluence, and other tools designated by management.
Consistent Utilization of Software Tools: Ensure consistent utilization of software tools such as Jira and Confluence following prescribed workflows and feature usage as directed by management.
Scrum Methodology and Agile Practices: Follow Scrum methodology, including participating in ceremonies (daily standups, Sprint planning, Sprint reviews, retrospectives), estimating work and adhering to agile principles and practices as defined by management.
Support Tools and Applications: Provide support for the Division's reporting and visualization tools and applications.
Assist Division Staff: Support and assist division staff in self-serving and building their own reports and visualizations by offering consultation, training, and guidance.
Promote Best Practices: Identify and promote best practices in the design, documentation, development, implementation, and maintenance of reports and visualizations.
Special Projects: Participate in special projects involving statistical report development, data analysis, and the creation of publications and other documentation.
Stay Updated: Stay up to date with the latest updates to report and visualization tools, including reading release notes and watching release videos.
Professional Conduct: Conduct oneself in a professional manner in all interactions.
Promote Visualization Use: Promote the use of visualizations within DLS and educate Division data users in support of DLS’s visualization strategy.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proficiency in Logi Analytics and Tableau for report design, maintenance, and updates.
Strong skills in data preparation, analysis, and validation using tools such as SQL.
Proven ability to update, troubleshoot, and optimize existing reports and visualizations.
Excellent documentation and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders effectively.
Experience with Agile methodologies, including Jira and Confluence, is a plus.
At least four years of professional experience in reporting, data analysis, correlated fields
