Associate Data Engineer/Analyst
Rolling Contract Position
Jacksonville, Florida
Brooksource is seeking a talented data professional to join our leading global pharmaceutical and medical device client. This position will support both data engineering initiatives and business intelligence functions, working closely with stakeholders to drive meaningful business impact across commercial operations.
Core Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Architecture
• Design, test, and document processes, SQL queries, and stored procedures
• Identify and resolve quality issues during complex data migration & transformation
• Manage new data sources (conforming with HIPAA and compliance requirements)
• Support integration of disparate data sources within sandbox environments
• Problem-solve data issues in partnership with IT team
• Work with modern cloud platforms including AWS Redshift, Databricks, and Amazon S3
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Validate and analyze data using SQL, Excel, and Tableau
• Create and maintain dashboard views to identify trends and insights
• Perform data collection, analysis, validation, and reporting
• Produce regularly scheduled and ad-hoc reports for business partners
• Communicate with stakeholders to address gaps in master data and ensure data quality
• Connect analysis with meaningful business partners to drive action
Business Intelligence Support
• Support BI analysts in data engineering capabilities enabling complex analytics
• Manage data catalog for the business
• Document reporting requirements and processes
• Validate data components as required
• Support other key initiatives as they occur within the organization
Qualifications
Required Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• Strong SQL and Excel skills (baseline requirement)
• Proficiency in Tableau and data visualization
• Experience with data transformation scripting languages (SQL, Python, etc.)
• Experience with Python or R
• Familiarity with AWS Redshift, Databricks, Amazon S3, and Dataiku/Alteryx
• Demonstrable data lifecycle capability (ingestion, contextualization, insights)
• Superior attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to balance multiple tasks
• Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Experience conducting presentations to multi-functional partners
• Broad understanding of data architecture and master data management
• Experience with large datasets and understanding of data analysis workflows
